Hinterland aims to connect food, people and place.
“We live in an interconnected world, in an interconnected time, and we need holistic solutions”
Naomi Klein
We’re dedicated to community-rooted research, creativity, and action that nourishes just, inclusive and sustainable food futures. We respond to the intersecting challenges of climate, agriculture, access, and belonging by cultivating holistic, place-based models of change.
Our work moves beyond single-issue solutions to address the deep entanglements of food insecurity, social and economic inequality, land disconnection, and the legacies of structural, racial, and gender-based injustice. We centre those most impacted to co-create a more vibrant, inclusive food system.
The purpose of this course is to equip trainers with the skills necessary to run a course in a given subject, such as gardening. The principles applied could also be used around teaching any skill, such as chair making, stone wall building, etc.
The day will investigate how people learn, group dynamics and how to impart knowledge to students in a light, easy, and fun manner. We’ll also look at practical issues such as timekeeping.
A way for people to pass on the valuable skills that they’ve acquired.
